Once a semester, each team in the Collaboratory takes part in a formal engineering design review in which faculty from the Department of Engineering and
others, including professional engineers from industry, hear an in-depth report about the work that the team has been doing, are able to ask questions about the
work and give their insights and suggestions based on their experience working as engineers. While these project reviews are a bit nerve-wracking for the students,
they really help to make sure that projects are progressing along a path which will lead to eventual success of the project. Because of the time that the
following individuals from outside the Department of Engineering have volunteered, these projects are much more successful than they could have been otherwise.
